Is the Predator now a Disney Prince? That’s the question keeping us up at night.
We already clued you into the existence of Predator: Killer of Killers, the upcoming animated expansion of the old action/sci-fi horror franchise. In fact, you can read about it here. But there’s brand new trailer out and besides, it means I can Ctrl+V a lot of the boilerplate. A win for all concerned, I feel.
But man, that does look good, doesn’t it? Those Viking and ninja storylines look cool as hell, but there’s also pretty obvious (and welcome!) go-to scenarios. Myself, I’m really curious about the World War II story. How’s the fight choreography going to work there? Are we gonna see a Pred leaping from plane to plane, slashin’ dudes? Surely there’s not a Yautja fighter plane? There’s no technical reason for there not to be, but the vibe feels off.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey) and Josh Wassung of animation outfit The Third Floor, Predator: Killer of Killers is an animated anthology feature comprising three discrete but Predator-centric stories, with the extraterrestrial big game hunter taking on Vikings; samurai; and, as we excitedly noted mere seconds ago, WWII fighter planes. Written by Trachtenberg and Micho Robert Rutare, it features the voices of Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Rick Gonzalez, and ol’ Corporal Hicks himself, Michael Biehn, although who they’re voicing is, as yet, a mystery.
And in other Predator news, it seems like it was only a minute ago that we got a trailer for the upcoming live action Predator: Badlands, that sees Elle Fanning teaming up with a young Pred for an adventure on an alien world. Be sure to give that a spin while admiring the shiny new poster below.
Predator: Killer of Killers hits Disney+ on June 6, 2025.
