Jenna Ortega has revealed her status as a Death Grips fan in Vogue’s “In The Bag” interview, making her the most noided celeb out there.
Huge news for the most annoying person you know (myself included)!
In an interview with Vogue, Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega revealed her love for the experimental hip-hop group Death Grips, showcasing a limited-edition hat the band had sold.
Here’s what the actress had to say about the band in her interview:
“It’s my Death Grips hat that probably needs a wash. From Praying. I love Death Grips. We thought that they broke up and they didn’t. I think they’re still going. But I did see them in London. I think I was actually shooting for Dior. And I called my castmate who was playing my love interest at the time and I was trying to get to know him. I took him to a Death Grips show, but I don’t think he listened to Death Grips so he was really confused by all the headbanging. It was the sweatiest venue I’ve ever been in in my life. Everyone was sleek.”
Evidence of Ortega appearing at the show exists in the form of a very blurry photo posted on X.
In the video, Ortega refers to Death Grips’ status as an active band. For a period, fans were led to believe the group had broken up and would no longer release any new music.
Death Grips would later clarify their status, sharing a statement that the band was continuing with member Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett and Zach Hill. The statement notably omitted Andy Morin, the group’s third member and a frequent collaborator since 2010.
Ortega isn’t the only celebrity to admit her fandom for the group. The Batman himself, Robert Pattinson, was caught in a photo with the group and Beyonce of all people after her LA concert in 2013. Pattinson would go on to share that he had played guitar on their track ‘Birds’, which appeared on their album Government Plates.
