Bloom performed to a packed-out crowd at Oxford Art Factory on Sunday as part of their Withered Across Australia tour – and we were there to capture it.
Sydney melodic hardcore outfit Bloom hit the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on Sunday for a high-energy show celebrating their newest single ‘Withered’ – and the crowd was more than ready to celebrate along with them.
Joined by Melbourne post-hardcore group Post Heaven off the back of their own new music, as well as Sydney alternative-metal group Inertia, the energy was on a high from the very beginning of the night, and only continued to build. It was a true celebration of the Australian music scene, wrapped up in one packed roster of bands.
By the time Bloom hit the stage, the crowd was well and truly ready for them. It was an emotionally charged, explosive set – kicking off with ‘Belrose’ and punctuated by crowd favourites, and of course their newest single ‘Withered.’
‘Siren Song’ got a double breakdown much to the crowd’s delight, and it almost feels reductive to describe Bloom’s performance as simply electric – but that’s what it was. You could feel the energy crackling through the air, from the attendees hanging at the back to those right up front, screaming along to their favourite tracks.
Bloom’s performance was vulnerable, powerful, and at its core, a celebration.
