Overwatch 2 Releases Persona 5 Collaboration With New Themed Skins & Cosmetics

Blizzard has released its latest Overwatch 2 collaboration with Persona, with themed skins for characters Mercy, D.Va, Wuyang, Lifeweaver and Genji.

Overwatch 2 Developer Blizzard has announced its latest crossover event, which is set to bring Persona 5 skins and cosmetics to the hero shooter.

The event, dubbed ‘Phantom Thieves’, will run from September 16-29, allowing players to purchase the themed skins and acquire a number of free themed cosmetics earned through challenges only available while the event is running.

As Overwatch fans can expect, the crossover features five new legendary skins based on five of the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5. Joker Wuyan, Skull Genji, Fox Lifeweaver, Panther Mercy and Queen D.Va are the five skins available.

Players can purchase these skins individually or opt for the Phantom Thieves Mega Bundle, which costs 6.900 Overwatch Coins, which will set you back $89.95. The bundle includes the skins, plus highlight intros, victory poses, name cards, player icons, voice lines, and sprays. Additionally, players will receive an extra Jokermari Weapon Charm that can be equipped on any item of their choice.

The Persona 5 collab is the 14th official skin collab for Overwatch 2, which has notably included World of Warcraft, Avatar: The Last Airbender, My Hero Academia, Transformers and more.

In recent years, thanks to the popularity of Fortnite, online shooters have often teamed up to collaborate with major IPs for collaborative cosmetic events. Some even go the extra mile, like for the upcoming Destiny 2 and Star Wars expansion, which is dedicating entirely new game modes and a new chapter in the game’s story.

Along with the Persona-themed skins, Overwatch 2 released its brand-new water-based support hero, Wuyang. He is the 44th character to be added to the game’s roster, and the second to be released this year.
