Borderlands 4 is getting a new DLC Vault Hunter named C4sh early next year.
C4sh is Borderlands 4’s newest Vault Hunter, heading to the game as part of DLC. The announcement was made by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford at Tokyo Game Show today during a presentation that showcased the character’s backstory and design.
C4sh will be available as part of Borderlands 4’s DLC in Q1 2026. Pitchford described him as a former dealer bot at a casino who saw “players have their fortunes made with luck or their lives ruined with bad luck.”
C4sh decided to break free of his job and to seek out his own life his own journey as a vault hunter, where he “uses his understanding of chance and probability to make the outcomes random.”
Pitchford described his Borderlands 4 gameplay as “high risk, high reward” due to chance and luck, saying he could be the “most powerful Vault Hunter in the game” with good luck.
During the Tokyo Game Show presentation, Pitchford also revealed that given his past as a professional poker player and magician (the man has many side quests, it seems), the Borderlands 4 team used footage of the CEO himself doing slight of hand card tricks as their reference for in-game animations. He called the character “very dear” to him during the showcase.
