Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has popped up with a new band on Saturday, opening for Death Threat, Colin of Arabia and more at Zen West in Baltimore, MD.
While no material has been released, S.E.T., which is an abbreviation for Self-Evident Truth, is another hardcore outfit from Ebert.
This is Ebert’s first band since leaving Turnstile in 2022, following the release of the group’s seminal record Glow On, which would net the band three Grammy Nominations. Tracks from Glow On would feature on a variety of games like Madden NFL 25, skate, WWE 2K24 and more.
Turnstile would replace Ebert with Meg Mills of Big Cheese later that year.
As of writing, S.E.T. are only scheduled to appear next at the Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, MD on January 31 as part of the 2026 Disturbin The Peace festival. You can still check out clips of the band via the group’s Instagram story.
But, if you happen to miss the videos, you can also check out a video from the night below.
Details on Ebert’s departure from Turnstile remain sparse. The band would announce Ebert’s departure via an Instagram statement, writing: “We are deeply grateful for our time together. Our love for him continues, and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”
Lambgoat would report later that Turnstile drummer Daniel Fang had filed a peace order against Ebert a week before Ebert’s departure. The order would prevent Ebert from abusing, contacting, or coming near Fang’s home or employment; however, it would ultimately be revoked. According to Lambgoat, this was due to the absence of a statutory basis for relief, as determined in a final hearing held on August 11 in the District Court of Maryland.
Neither the band or Ebert have spoken about his departure since.
