The Cure have announced that their long-awaited concert film, Show of a Lost World, filmed during their performance at London’s Troxy, will play in select theatres across the world on December 11.

Fans of goth rock group The Cure woke up to pleasant news this morning as the band would share that their highly-anticipated concert film, The Show of a Lost World, would play in select theatre’s across the world from December 11.

Filmed during the band’s London’s Troxy performance on November 1st, 2024, the upcoming concert film captured the band most recent tour in support of their long-awaited album Songs of a Lost World, which broke the celebrated band’s 16-year long gap between releases.

The upcoming 4k remastered concert film will feature a new surround sound mix by The Cure’s frontman Robert Smith, and was directed by Nick Wickham, who has also direct concert films for Madonna, Rihanna, Beyoncé and more.

The Show of a Lost World includes the band’s full 31-song setlist from the night, which also featured every song from their most recent album. It also features a five-song set marking the 45th anniversary of their sophomore LP, Seventeen Seceond. The setlist also features a variety of the bands most celebrated hits and deepest cuts including, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘In Between Days’, ‘A Night Like This’, ‘Disintergration’, ‘The Walk’, and many more.

Last month, eagle-eyed fans would spot that The Cure’s website had updated its bio confirming the band had recorded 13 new songs for an upcoming release.

The bio would state: “In March 2025 the band went back into Rockfield Studios to record 13 more songs for a follow-up album”.

At the time of releasing Songs of A Lost World, Smith admitted the band had another album that was “virtually finished”, and was gearing up to lay the foundation for a third album as well.

Smith also previously shared that he would be reluctant to head back on the road until at least one of the follow-ups to their 2024 record had been completed. The Cure would recently announce several new shows for 2026, including Primavera Sound and a slew of UK and Ireland headline shows, so if they’re true to their word, we might be hearing even more new material from the iconic band sooner than later.

Venues for the upcoming concert film have yet to be announced on the band’s website.
