Yungblud Cancels Shows After Health Scare As Australia Gets Ready For His 2026 Return

Share

After the year he has had, it almost felt inevitable something would give. Yungblud has cancelled the rest of his 2025 shows after routine voice and blood tests came back with worrying results and his doctor told him to get off the road.

In his statement he admitted he has a habit of running himself into the ground and said, “I’ve been told I have to take it seriously and I can’t fuck around.” It stings, but if you have been watching his run this year, it also makes uncomfortable sense.

We saw the warning signs earlier this year when he pulled out of his Liverpool show but still bought fans a round after tonsillitis wiped him out mid-tour. It was peak Yungblud, but underneath it was the reality that his voice was under strain.

All of this lands just as Australia gets ready for his biggest run here yet. When he announced his 2026 Australian tour for Idols: The World Tour, it was immediately clear this trip was going to be massive. Then demand blew out and he added a second Brisbane show and upgraded Sydney to Qudos Bank Arena, which says everything about how fiercely Australia has shown up for him.

The Australian dates for 2026 are:

Sat 10 Jan – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney
Tues 13 Jan – Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne
Thurs 15 Jan – AEC Arena, Adelaide
Sat 17 Jan – Riverstage, Brisbane
Sun 18 Jan – Riverstage, Brisbane (second show)
Tues 20 Jan – ICF Outdoor, Perth

For someone who lives for the stage, being forced to stop is brutal. But if stepping away from the US and Latin American shows now is what it takes to hit Australia at full power in January, it is the only call that makes sense. These rooms are huge, and the expectations are even bigger. No one here wants a half-strength version of him.

We want him back healthy, steady and loud. Australia is waiting. And if he uses this time to actually recover, those 2026 shows might feel less like a tour and more like a proper return.

Full Statement from Yungblud:

This year has been truly unbelievable and I feel so lucky and honoured from everything that has happened. This week when I got home off the road, and went to have some tests done (like I usually do) and my voice and blood tests have raised some concerns. I have been ordered by my doctor to take a break from touring until the end of the year.

It is in my nature to run and run until I run myself to the ground without giving a fuck about anything apart from the music and you guys but this time I’ve been told I have to take it seriously and I can’t fuck around.

I’m so sorry to do this. But reluctantly I have to cancel the shows through the end of the year. These include Philadelphia, Cleveland, Washington, Mexico City and Latin America. My heart is broken.

I don’t want do any lasting damage to myself, we are on a journey that I want to last forever. I understand that some of you will be frustrated. I just want you to know that this is so hard for me to do but I promise I will make it up to you.

All US tickets will be refunded. If you sign up with an address at the link I will send you a gift. I never take anyone’s love support or energy for granted. You know you are everything to me. But I need this time. USA I will see you next year. Mexico and latam we are already looking into my own shows down there that will be more affordable for next year too. It’s gonna be unbelievable. I can’t wait.
