Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck has released his new horror game, Sleep Awake, featuring an all-new soundtrack from the musician.

Longtime Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck has proven he can also put on the ol’ composer boots and has released his new video game, Sleep Awake.

Not only does Finck serve as the game’s composer, but also its co-creator, alongside Corey Davis, who directed Spec Ops: The Line. The game is a futuristic first-person psychological horror that takes place in the last known city on Earth. The only remaining humans left are hunted by ‘The HUSH’, which disappears people in their sleep. To survive, people undergo terrifying experiments to stay awake.

The official game’s description would go on to write, “Playing as Katja, you must survive the devotees of various depraved death cults and try to stay awake. Solve the puzzles of this mysterious world to shatter the horrors of the past.”

If you need more of a horror stamp of approval, the game is produced by Blumhouse Games, an offshoot of the movie studio Blumhouse Films.

You can check out a trailer for the game below:

As of its release, the game is sitting at a “Mixed” rating, with players noting the game’s price as a big sticking point.

Full retail price for this one is $43.95 AUD, and is expected to take around three to five hours to complete. So, it makes sense for fans to be a bit put off by the price for this one.

In saying that, positive reviews of the game are praising its haunting imagery and impressive graphics, so if you’re looking for something to play in front of a few friends, this might be a fun pick up when it goes on sale.

If you’re just interested in listening to Finck’s soundtrack, however, you can stream the entire album on Spotify – just make sure to leave the lights on.

Nine Inch Nails would also release their Tron: Ares soundtrack, marking the group’s first album in over five years since 2020’s Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts. While the film itself wasn’t well received, nearly all reviews spoke glowingly of the industrial rock band’s music.

Sleep Awake is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
