Wizards of the Coast have announced Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, their newest action-adventure game, during The Game Awards 2025.
Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is the next D&D title coming out of the Wizards of the Coast camp, with a surprise reveal during The Game Awards’ 2025 show.
Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is a third-person action-adventure title in development by Invoke Studios – who you may recognise by their former name, Tuque Studios. Tuque developed 2021’s Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance.
In the game, players will control veteran warrior Katri, as she makes a pact and “wields forbidden magic.” According to Invoke Studios boss Jeff Hattem (as per PCGamesN), the title has been described as a “hand-crafted, third-person action-adventure game built around immersive and expressive magic.” There’ll be monsters to fight, puzzles to solve, and plenty of adventure to have in this dark, in-depth game.

While it’s a Dungeons & Dragons game, Invoke general manager Dominic Guay said during a press briefing ahead of The Game Awards that Warlock would be trying to step out from other D&D-related titles like Baldur’s Gate III. “Our focus is making a video game first: an immersive, single-player, open world experience,” Guay said. “We’re not trying to simulate the tabletop RPG experience, so we won’t have things like dice rolling or anything like that.”
Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2027.
