A photo of Till Lindemann and Yungblud taken in Perth has sparked online backlash, prompting Yungblud to publicly distance himself and say he was unaware of Lindemann’s past controversies at the time they met.
The image was shared to Instagram by Lindemann earlier this week, showing the pair standing together outdoors in Perth. Lindemann captioned the post: “Absolute pleasure meeting @yungblud in Perth. Have fun in Mumbai!”
While the photo appeared casual, reaction in the comments quickly escalated, with fans raising concerns about Lindemann’s past controversies and calling on Yungblud to address the interaction publicly.
Lindemann, the frontman of Rammstein, faced widely reported allegations in 2023 relating to after-parties and “Row Zero,” including claims of drink-spiking and sexual misconduct. He denied wrongdoing, and German prosecutors later dropped their investigation for lack of evidence.
As the backlash grew, Yungblud addressed the situation directly via a voice message sent to his Instagram broadcast channel, distancing himself from the situation and stressing that he had no prior knowledge of the allegations.
“I had no idea — obviously at the minute I’m meeting lots of people every day without fully knowing who they are or what they’re about,” Yungblud said. “And I can assure you, if I knew about any allegations, it would have been a completely different story. You all know what I stand for, always. I’ll be more aware of it in the future.”
The message appeared aimed at reassuring fans that the meeting was not an endorsement, and that he would take greater care around public interactions moving forward.
