Dropkick Murphys Release ‘Citizen I.C.E.’ Ahead Of New ‘New England Forever’ Split LP

Dropkick Murphys aren’t easing into 2026 quietly, the Boston punk institution has released a new song, ‘Citizen I.C.E.’, a furious reworking of their 2005 track ‘Citizen C.I.A.’, aimed squarely at state violence and the ongoing tragedy surrounding killings in Minnesota.

The track, which features hardcore outfit Haywire, arrives ahead of the digital and physical release of the bands’ upcoming split 12-inch LP, New England Forever.

Recorded in late 2025, the song was recently previewed online alongside a stark video drawing attention to the killings in Minneapolis, setting the tone for what is easily one of Dropkick Murphys’ most direct statements in years.

Sharing the song, the band posted the following message to social media:

“As Americans are being executed in the street, we feel it is our duty to raise consciousness, and be one of the voices speaking against this nightmare. CITIZEN I.C.E. is FOR THE PEOPLE. Stand strong against tyranny. Use it however you want.

Lyrically, ‘Citizen I.C.E.’ doesn’t pull punches. Over a confrontational punk backbone, Dropkick Murphys spit lines like:

Power-hungry scumbags
Apply today
Come celebrate dictatorships and bolster the regime
While abusing helpless immigrants, a bully’s wet dream
You’ve joined the traitors’ ranks to play the hand of God
In a dirtbag grifter’s kidnapping squad
Citizen I.C.E.

The split LP reflects the tight bond formed between the two bands while touring Europe together last year, each group contributes three original tracks and covers one song from the other’s catalogue, reinforcing the collaborative, community first spirit behind the release.
