Loathe Announce First Ever Australian Headline Tour With Static Dress

UK heavy shapeshifters Loathe are finally bringing their full headline experience to Australia in May, announcing a national run with fellow Brits Static Dress in tow.

Presented by Destroy All Lines, the tour marks Loathe’s first proper headline lap down under and Static Dress’s debut Australian visit, it kicks off in Perth on May 9th, the run goes through Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle before wrapping in Brisbane on May 16th.

A Long Time Coming

Since forming in 2014, Loathe have carved out a space that doesn’t sit comfortably in any single lane, their sound slips between shoegaze haze, metallic abrasion, industrial textures and moments of unsettling calm.

Records like 2017’s The Cold Sun and 2020’s I Let It In and It Took Everything pushed them into global heavy conversations, while 2021’s The Things They Believe leaned harder into atmosphere and tension.

Their latest single, ‘Gifted Every Strength’, suggests the band are still mutating rather than settling, live, that volatility hits differently, anyone who caught them at Good Things Festival in 2024 knows they don’t just play breakdowns, they stretch songs until they feel cinematic, then snap them back into something crushing.

They’ve toured with Korn, Gojira and Spiritbox, they’ve played Download and Reading and Leeds, but a headline theatre run gives them room to breathe and build.

Static Dress Make Their Australian Debut

Static Dress are hardly filler, since 2019’s ‘clean.’, they’ve been reshaping post-hardcore with a sharp eye on mid-2000s emo nostalgia and glitchy, forward facing production. Their debut album Rogue Carpet Disaster turned heads in 2022, and their live reputation has grown fast off the back of supports with Bring Me The Horizon and Motionless In White.

For Australian heavy fans, this is a stacked bill, two UK bands pushing heavy music sideways rather than backwards.
