PRESIDENT Share Brooding New Single ‘Angel Wings’

Share

Mysterious masked group PRESIDENT have shared their new track, ‘Angel Wings’, signalling the next chapter for the breakout band.

PRESIDENT are back with their latest single, ‘Angel Wings’, which serves as their first release via Atlantic Records and points towards what’s next for the mysterious masked group.

The track from the UK metal group sees the group refining their blend of heavy screams, Djent-inspired breakdowns, and industrial electronic passages to deliver a soaring new single. If you’re already a fan, you’ll likely be impressed by the band’s new offering, which lets its frontman deliver an impassioned and brooding vocal performance.

As per PRESIDENT tradition, ‘Angel Wings’ laments about a strained relationship with one’s religion and god, and if their holy father ever truly loved them to begin with.

PRESIDENT has seen a meteoric rise, debuting last year in May with the track ‘In the Name of the Father’, which racked up half a million views in a single day.

Following the release, the masked collective would join Architects on their 2025 Australian tour with House of Protection and perform a one-off headlining show in Melbourne.

Eventually, the band released their debut EP, King of Terrors, which featured impressive moments but was weighed down by overly gratuitous production and eyebrow-raising lyrical misfires.

Given their sudden success, which would see the band booked for Download Festival without a single song to their name at the time, metal fans would push back and label the group as “Sleep Token industry plants“. A label PRESIDENT frontman would push back against, calling the comparisons “lazy” in an interview with Metal Hammer:

“What a f***ing lazy comparison. I mean, yes, we have the same management, and we both wear masks. Those are both facts… you got me! It’s like, is that it?! That’s all you’ve got? It’s hardly a new thing, is it, wearing masks?!”

Still, the band seem eager to push on and make a name for themselves and justify their place in the spotlight with ‘Angel Wings’.

It’s unclear at this time whether the track is teasing a full-length album from the group on the horizon or is planned as a one-off release. But it doesn’t seem like the band is looking to slow down their output any time soon.
