Cradle Of Filth And DevilDriver Lock In Australian Tour Dates

Share

When Cradle Of Filth and DevilDriver tore across North America together in 2023, it felt inevitable that Australia would eventually get its turn.

Now it’s official, the British extreme metal institution and the American groove-metal juggernaut are bringing their co-headline spectacle down under this July. The US run earned serious praise, with Ghost Cult Magazine dubbing it “a face-grinding heavy package that lived up to the hype and left fans ecstatic”, while South Florida Insider called it “a triumphant collision of American and British heavy metal, leaving the audience drenched in adrenaline.” (per press release).

This time, Australian crowds get full headline sets from both camps, no half measures here.

Cradle Of Filth Return With ‘The Screaming Of The Valkyries’

Fronted by the ever-unmistakable Dani Filth, Cradle Of Filth remain one of extreme metal’s most recognisable and theatrical forces, more than three decades in, they’re still leaning hard into the gothic melodrama, symphonic swells and razor-wire shrieks that made records like ‘Dusk… and Her Embrace’ essential listening.

They arrive off the back of their 14th studio album, The Screaming Of The Valkyries, and if their last sold out Australian run proved anything, it’s that the appetite here hasn’t faded. Get ready for a set that balances old world blackened fury with the newer orchestral weight.

DevilDriver Bring The Groove And The Grind

On the other side of the stage, Dez Fafara leads DevilDriver with the same clenched intensity that’s defined the band for two decades, their catalogue runs deep, from early crushers to more recent slabs of groove driven aggression.

Live, DevilDriver don’t deal in gimmicks. It’s riffs, sweat, and blunt-force rhythm, the kind of set that leaves your ears ringing and your ribs rattled.

For fans of extreme metal in all its theatrical and groove soaked forms, this is one of July’s heaviest line ups.
