Legendary guitar players Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have shared a new video taken from their upcoming project SATCHVAI, starring Dethklok’s Brendon Small.

Guitar virtuoso’s Steve Vai and Joe Satriani have released their new track ‘Dancing’, taken from their latest SATCHVAI project, along with a music video starring Dethklok‘s own Brendon Small.

The new track comes after the dynamic duo are primed to kick off their North American tour in Seattle this April with support from Animals As Leaders.

Ahead of the tracks’ release, the pair would share a press statement revealing that “Dancing” is a “reimagined interpretation of a song by iconic Italian singer, pianist, and songwriter Paolo Conte.”

‘Dancing’ really captures the playful side of what Steve and I discovered on stage together last summer,” shared Satriani. “That push-and-pull of melody and energy. The video gave us a chance to show that spirit in a completely different way. Watching ZZ bring this absurd casting concept to life – and having Brendon step into the madness – made it even more fun.”

Vai added, “This band thrives on surprise – musically and visually. ‘Dancing’ is a perfect example of that. It’s melodic but relentless, and the video turns that energy into a kind of surreal comedy. It’s a glimpse into the personality of this band before we even hit the stage.”

SATCHVAI has yet to announce a date for their debut album, although it is expected to be released sometime later this year.

This new project marks the first official studio-recorded collaboration between the two iconic guitar players. Before this, the pair would often collaborate on G3, a tour that brought veteran guitar players together to put on a masterclass guitar performance.

Over the years, Satriani and Vai would be joined by the likes of Dream Theater’s John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, King Crimson’s Robert Fripp, Queen’s Brian May and more.

The tour would release five albums and concert movies, with the most recent release being last year’s G3 Reunion Live.
