GRAMMY winning rapper and songwriter Everlast has released a new single titled ‘Stones’, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in the veteran artist’s long running career.
Irish-American musician Everlast dropped the track this week as his first release with Thirty Tigers, working in partnership with Regime Music Group, the song was produced by Yelawolf, hinting at a broader collaboration that will unfold as Everlast prepares to roll out more music in the coming months.
For Everlast, the song digs deep into personal reflection rather than chasing nostalgia (per press release):
“‘Stones’ is a song about culpability and regret. A journey from self loathing to self healing and forgiveness.”
The track leans into the kind of introspective storytelling that has defined much of Everlast’s work since the late 1990s, it’s a style that helped turn ‘What It’s Like’ into one of the most recognisable crossover songs of its era, blending hip-hop grit with acoustic honesty.

A career built on reinvention
Everlast, born Erik Francis Schrody, has spent decades moving between genres without settling comfortably in just one lane.
He first emerged as a solo rapper with ‘Forever Everlasting’, released through Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate while still in his teens, a few years later he reached global recognition as part of House of Pain, whose breakout hit ‘Jump Around’ remains one of hip-hop’s most enduring party anthems.
His 1998 album ‘Whitey Ford Sings the Blues’ pushed things even further, blending hip-hop, rock, folk and blues into a sound that would later influence artists across multiple scenes.
The musician also picked up a GRAMMY Award for his collaboration with Carlos Santana on ‘Put Your Lights On’, which appeared on Santana’s blockbuster album ‘Supernatural’.
New music on the horizon
‘Stones’ arrives alongside other recent material from Everlast, including the track ‘Rubber Bullets’, written while watching the protests following the killing of George Floyd, and the politically charged single ‘Blood on the Wheel’, created with producer WLPWR.
Together, the songs hint at a new project currently in the works.
If ‘Stones’ is any indication, Everlast’s next chapter looks set to keep leaning into the brutally honest storytelling that has defined his music for decades.
