Dune: Part Three has a trailer dropping soon, but first check out the sudden salvo of first look images.
Timothée Chalamet dropped our first look at Dune: Part 3 on his Insta, perhaps figuring that, having lost the ballet and opera crowd completely, it might be a good time to shore up his bonds with the nerd herd.
As you can see, our boy the Emperor Paul Atreides is looking much the worse for wear, having taken over the Imperium and set off a universe-wide jihad after becoming the Messiah of the desert-dwelling Fremen people (look, I have to assume you’re up on all this, or we’ll be here all night). But here’s a better look:

Once again directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts, Dune: Part 3 adapts Frank Herbert’s more challenging (albeit much shorter) 1969 sequel, Dune Messiah. The book picks up 12 years after the events of 1965’s Dune, with Paul Emperor of the Universe and trying to guide the fate of humanity while contending with various conspiracies against him.
Of course, we don’t know how closely Villeneuve’s film will follow the book. But we do know that, in addition to Timmy C as Paul, returning cast members include Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho (sort of), Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides.
New to the film are Robert Pattinson as the villain Scytale, Isaach de Bankolé as Farok, Paul’s former Fedaykin bodyguard, and Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke as Paul and Chani’s children.
And thanks to the official Dune Insta account dropping a heap of teaser posters after Chalamet opened the floodgates, here’s your first look at most of them:

Dune: Part 3 is in cinemas from December 18.
