Nü-metal/Electro-punk duo Wargasm have shared that they’ve almost finished their second album with a tongue-in-cheek social media post.
Wargasm have announced that the genre-blending duo is returning to the studio to finish tracking their second album.
Fielded by Milkie Way (real name Rachel Alexandra Hastings) and Sam Matlock, the group would explode with notoriety following the release of their 2023 album Venom.
The video, dubbed “Nature Retreat”, arrived two days ago, showcasing the band sitting in a bright-lit, nature-filled location. A man’s voice would channel Garth from Wayne’s World, saying, “It’s like people only do things because they get paid.” A woman’s voice would follow, saying “And that’s just extremely depressing,” before the video blacks out.
If we’re to put our tinfoil caps on, this could be pointing towards the visual aesthetic for the band’s next outing, or perhaps some kind of motif for the sophomore album.
The caption would write: “Album Two – on site for the final recording session x”, just to cement that the group are hard at work on new music.
It’s unclear if the band are aiming for a 2026 release date for this one, but knowing their rapid-fire output in recent years, it’s possible we could see a quick turnaround for this one.
Since breaking onto the scene with their 2022 mixtape: EXPLICIT: The MiXXXtape, Wargasm have been busy releasing track after track and touring all across the world.
The band would appear at last year’s Good Things Festival in Australia, appearing alongside heavy hitters like Tool, Weezer, Dayseeker and more.
Wargasm would also play side shows in Brisbane and Sydney in the lead up to the festival, playing an extended set with tracks taken from their various EPs and debut album.
The group are also expected to head on a long UK and Europe tour starting in April, which will extend all the way until the end of June.
