Karnivool Announce ‘In Verses’ Australian Tour With TesseracT And Car Bomb

Share

Karnivool are finally taking In Verses on the road, locking in a long awaited Australian tour.

Perth prog heavyweights Karnivool will hit five capital cities this July, bringing UK juggernauts TesseracT and New York’ chaos merchants’s Car Bomb along for what’s shaping up to be one of the most stacked heavy lineups of the year.

It’s been over a decade since Karnivool last toured a new record, and the weight of that gap hangs all over this run. In Verses didn’t just arrive quietly either, it stormed straight to #1 on the ARIA charts, a rare feat for a progressive metal record that refuses to play nice with trends or algorithms.

Thirteen years in the making

There’s no clean way to package what In Verses represents. Thirteen years between records is the kind of gap that kills momentum for most bands, but Karnivool have never operated on anyone else’s clock.

The album feels dense, deliberate, and at times almost overwhelming, layers folding into each other with the kind of patience that only comes from years of reworking and refining, when the closing track ‘Salva’ swells, it lands like a release valve finally giving way, a moment that’s hit just as hard online as it does through headphones.

A lineup built to push limits

TesseracT aren’t here to warm up the crowd, the UK outfit have spent years bending metal into something more fluid, weaving intricate rhythms and atmosphere into sets that feel as cerebral as they are crushing. Their last run through Australia off the back of ‘War of Being’ proved just how locked in their audience is here.

Then there’s Car Bomb, making their first ever trip down under, if you’ve never seen them, expect controlled collapse, shifting tempos, warped structures, and riffs that feel like they’re actively trying to throw you off balance.

Put all three bands on the same bill and it stops feeling like a standard tour, this is a lineup built for people who want to be challenged as much as they want to be flattened.

For Australian fans who’ve been sitting on In Verses since it dropped, this is the moment it finally breathes in a live setting.
