The Ghost Inside are quietly building something again, two years on from Searching For Solace, the Californian metalcore outfit have confirmed they’re back in the room, working on new material.
The Ghost Inside bassist Jim Riley dropped the update via social media on April 7th, filming himself on the way to link up with the rest of the band, it wasn’t a grand announcement, just a glimpse behind the curtain, but for a band like The Ghost Inside, that’s usually how the next chapter starts.
New songs are already taking shape
Riley confirmed the band have already started piecing together new tracks, even teasing the name of one in the clip, though the audio was censored. Blink and you miss it, unless you’re sharp enough to read lips (please let us know if you can).
It’s a small detail, but it says a lot, this isn’t just loose ideas floating around, they’re deep enough into the process to be naming songs.
Picking up after ‘Searching For Solace’
Their last record, Searching For Solace, landed in April 2024 and carried the weight you’d expect from a band that’s lived through more than most, it wasn’t a reinvention, but it didn’t need to be. It leaned into resilience without turning it into a gimmick.
That’s the tricky balance The Ghost Inside have always walked, their music hits hardest when it feels lived in, not manufactured.
No rush, but momentum is there
There’s no release date, no rollout plan, no hint at how far along they are. But the fact they’re actively writing again matters.
For a band that’s built its identity on pushing forward, even when things fall apart, this feels like another step rather than a comeback.
If history’s anything to go by, whatever comes next won’t be rushed, it’ll land when it’s ready, and it’ll hit just as hard.
