Papa Roach Announce ‘See U In Hell’ with Hanumankind For Devil May Cry

Share

There’s something fitting about Papa Roach diving back into the fun of ‘Devil May Cry’.

A band that built its name on early 2000s angst is now circling a franchise that thrives on demons, blood, and style over subtlety, this time they’re not going it alone.

Papa Roach have confirmed a new single, ‘See U In Hell’, arriving May 7th, linking up with rising rapper Hanumankind for the release, the track has been written for season two of Netflix’s ‘Devil May Cry’ anime adaptation, which lands just five days later on May 12th (per The PRP).

On paper, the title alone raises eyebrows, frontman Jacoby Shaddix has been vocal about his Christian faith in recent years, making a song called ‘See U In Hell’ feel like a deliberate contradiction, but context matters here. This is a franchise built on demon hunters, hellspawn, and gothic spectacle, leaning into that world isn’t exactly a personality shift, it’s just playing the role.

A return to familiar territory

This isn’t Papa Roach’s first brush with ‘Devil May Cry’, the first season featured a remix of their breakout track ‘Last Resort’, tapping into that early nü-metal energy that still refuses to die quietly. Pairing that legacy with Hanumankind suggests the band is aiming to bridge eras rather than chase nostalgia outright.

There’s also a bigger trend at play, anime soundtracks are pulling heavier from alternative and metal scenes again, and bands like Papa Roach are sliding back into relevance through those channels, it’s less about reinvention and more about finding the right battlefield.

Whether ‘See U In Hell’ lands as a throwback or something sharper remains to be seen, but one thing’s locked in, Papa Roach stepping into the ‘Devil May Cry’ universe feels less like a gamble and more like muscle memory.
