Boundaries are continuing their savage build toward new album Yearning: the unbeautiful after, unveiling the crushing new single ‘Only endless’ alongside an equally bleak new video.
The track marks the third preview of the Connecticut metalcore outfit’s upcoming fourth full length, which lands July 17th via Sumerian Records.
While previous singles ‘Death will follow me’ and ‘Skies cast amber black’ leaned heavily into grief, rage and emotional devastation, ‘Only endless’ arrives with a slightly different approach, one that vocalist Matthew McDougal says is more observational than confrontational.
“Much of the record poses questions to listeners, probing if they identify with the sentiment of what’s been said and why they do or don’t,” McDougal explained.
“‘Only endless’ doesn’t ask anything of the listener. It describes a feeling. You can take what you will from it.”

Recorded with producer Drew Fulk, known for work with Knocked Loose and Fit For A King, Yearning: the unbeautiful after reportedly captures Boundaries at their most aggressive, focused and uncompromising yet.
“With the record, we aimed to be uncompromising and really plant our flag,” McDougal previously said.
“As more time passes, heavy music continues to lose its teeth. This genre is supposed to be threatening; it should have an edge and make you feel something. We tried to create an album with urgency.”
The new album also features guest appearances from Make Them Suffer and The Plot In You frontman Landon Tewers, further tying Boundaries into the current wave of bands pushing modern metalcore into darker and more emotionally volatile territory.
Since emerging with Your Receding Warmth in 2020, the Hartford band have steadily become one of heavy music’s most respected rising names, earning praise for balancing crushing heaviness with gothic melody and emotionally raw songwriting.
With Yearning: the unbeautiful after now only weeks away, Boundaries are also preparing for a massive international touring run. The band are set to appear at Download Festival, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Jera On Air, Vainstream Festival and Warped Tour, while also joining Knocked Loose for a North American tour later this year.
