Share

Linkin Park have officially lifted the curtain on their next major project, revealing the first teaser for an upcoming film titled Unshatter.

After quietly planting clues through merchandise and promotional material throughout the week, the band has now confirmed that a new cinematic release is on the way (per The PRP).

Fans expecting a straightforward concert movie may be in for something much bigger, the newly released teaser hints at a feature length documentary exploring one of the most significant chapters in Linkin Park‘s history.

A clapperboard briefly visible in the footage labels the project as an “LP doc”, suggesting the film will combine live performances with behind the scenes storytelling.

Longtime Linkin Park creative force Joe Hahn is directing the project, beyond his role as the band’s DJ and visual architect, Hahn has directed many of Linkin Park’s most iconic music videos throughout their career, making him a natural choice to helm such a personal project.

While details remain limited, footage from Linkin Park’s November 2024 performance at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, appears to play a central role in the film, that concert was one of the band’s most significant live appearances following its return to the stage.

The new chapter

More importantly, Unshatter looks set to document the band’s journey through one of the most challenging periods in its history. The teaser suggests the film will explore the years following the tragic passing of vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017, as well as the band’s eventual decision to move forward and begin a new chapter with vocalist Emily Armstrong.

The period between Bennington’s passing and Linkin Park’s return represented an uncertain future for one of modern rock’s most influential acts, the film appears poised to offer an inside look at how the band navigated grief, healing and the difficult process of rebuilding.

Release date to come

An official release date has yet to be announced, Linkin Park has confirmed that Unshatter is planned for a worldwide theatrical release, with Joe Hahn behind the camera and the band’s remarkable comeback story at its centre, Unshatter could become one of the most revealing and emotional projects in Linkin Park’s career.
