Haywire Release Wild Claymation Video For ‘The Henchmen’ After Australian Tour Run

Fresh off introducing themselves to Australian crowds, Boston hardcore outfit Haywire have returned with something a little unexpected.

The band have released a new claymation video for The Henchmen, bringing a chaotic visual counterpart to one of their standout recent tracks.

Created by Baby Cry Animations, the clip trades straightforward performance footage for warped stop motion visuals that feel fittingly off kilter for a band that thrives on intensity and unpredictability, the result lands somewhere between unsettling and strangely addictive, which feels pretty on brand.

The Henchmen originally appeared earlier this year as part of New England Forever, Haywire’s split release with Celtic punk heavyweights Dropkick Murphys.

While pairing a rising hardcore band with one of Boston’s most recognisable exports may have raised eyebrows on paper, the release ended up feeling like a celebration of shared roots rather than stylistic overlap.

The video also arrives not long after Haywire wrapped up their first Australian run supporting Poison The Well, the band left a strong impression thanks to an explosive live show that balanced total pit fun with moments that felt unexpectedly personal.

One of those moments came during their Melbourne performance on June 11th, when vocalist Austin Sparkman briefly stopped the set to reflect on reaching one year sober from alcohol and cocaine.

Rather than turning the moment into a speech, Sparkman spoke openly about connection and encouraged the crowd to acknowledge the people around them before launching straight back into the set.

That contrast, intensity paired with sincerity, seems to sit at the centre of what Haywire are building.

Now with The Henchmen getting a fresh visual treatment and international momentum continuing to build, Haywire look determined to keep pushing beyond hardcore’s usual boundaries, and if the claymation wasn’t weird enough already, that’s probably exactly the point.
