After years of rumours, hints and the occasional tease, fans may have finally received the closest thing yet to confirmation that Austin Powers 4 is actually happening.
The catch? It came in the form of a single word.
Appearing on Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party, Mike Myers was asked directly by a fan whether audiences would ever see another Austin Powers film, his response “Yes.” That was it (per Variety).
No release date, cast announcements, timelines or explanation of whether the project is in development, written, greenlit or simply an idea Myers still intends to make happen. For a franchise that hasn’t released a new film in more than two decades, one word was enough to send fans into speculation mode.
Trevor Noah appeared equally surprised by the speed of the answer, responding in the moment: “wow, that was a quick yes!”
If a fourth film does move forward, it would arrive around 25 years after Austin Powers in Goldmember, which hit cinemas in 2002 and completed the original trilogy.

Created by Myers and directed by Jay Roach, the Austin Powers films became one of the defining comedy franchises of the late ’90s and early 2000s.
Beginning with Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery in 1997, the series followed the absurd adventures of a swinging ’60s spy thawed into the modern world, with Myers famously playing multiple characters including Austin Powers and Dr. Evil.
The franchise expanded with The Spy Who Shagged Me in 1999 before closing (for now) with Goldmember in 2002, which featured Beyoncé among its cast and helped push the trilogy’s global box office beyond US$670 million (approx. $955,593,530.00 AUD).
Myers has hinted at revisiting the series before, in 2024, he said there were “absolutely” more stories to tell and previously floated the idea that a future instalment could potentially shift focus toward Dr. Evil.
For now though, fans have exactly one confirmed detail, Mike Myers says yes.
