The wait for Loathe’s long awaited return is almost over, and the Liverpool heavy innovators have dropped another glimpse into what’s coming next.
The band have officially released “Fangs”, the latest single lifted from their upcoming third album A Stranger To You, arriving July 17th via SharpTone Records.
Following previous releases “Gifted Every Strength” and “Revenant”, the new track continues building anticipation around one of heavy music’s most anticipated records of the year.
Few bands have carried expectations quite like Loathe since releasing I Let It In And It Took Everything back in 2020, across the six years since, anticipation around the follow up has only intensified as the band’s influence continued to spread across alternative, metal and post-hardcore circles.

Erik Bickerstaffe (Loathe) Interview
We recently caught up with guitarist Erik Bickerstaffe ahead of the album launch, it was clear the band had no interest in recreating what worked before, rather than treating A Stranger To You as a sequel to I Let It In…, Loathe approached the record as another evolution, expanding into immersive sound design, broader textures and ideas that push beyond conventional heavy music boundaries.
Fangs feels consistent with that direction, while still rooted in the atmosphere and intensity that made Loathe one of the most talked about heavy bands of the last decade, the new material continues opening doors into stranger and more experimental territory.
Busy year on the road
he release arrives alongside an enormous touring schedule for the band, including appearances at Lollapalooza, dates supporting Interpol and a major North American headline run later this year.
Fresh off sold out Australian shows earlier this year, demand for Loathe has arguably never been stronger, with only weeks remaining until release day, Fangs offers another indication that A Stranger To You won’t simply revisit the past, it’s aiming to push the band somewhere entirely new.
