Ice Nine Kills Unleash First ‘Play Dead’ Trailer Ahead Of Dead By Daylight Release

Share

Ice Nine Kills have officially opened the gates to their latest horror universe crossover, dropping the first trailer for Play Dead, their upcoming collaboration with Dead By Daylight, and if the preview is anything to go by, this one is leaning all the way into chaos.

After Ice Nine Kills announced the project earlier this month, fans finally have their first proper look at what INK and Behaviour Interactive have been cooking up ahead of the track’s release tomorrow (June 26th).

Rather than feeling like a simple soundtrack tie in, Play Dead already looks like another full scale Ice Nine Kills production, equal parts horror short film, music video and self aware genre parody.

The trailer arrives with a stacked cast list featuring skateboarding icon Tony Hawk alongside horror favourite Devon Sawa, with appearances from Dingbar Tarbani, Krsy Fox and streamer SpookyLoopz.

Cinematic story telling

For a band that has built its entire identity around cinematic storytelling and horror obsession, Dead By Daylight feels less like an unexpected crossover and more like an inevitable one.

Behaviour Interactive’s long running multiplayer horror phenomenon has spent the last decade blending original killers with some of pop culture’s biggest horror properties, and now Ice Nine Kills are becoming part of that expanding world.

Outside the music release itself, the collaboration extends directly into the game with an Ice Nine Kills inspired cosmetic collection already available for players, bringing the band’s signature horror style into Dead By Daylight.

The full Play Dead track lands tomorrow (June 26th) alongside the complete music video premiere, pre save here, if the trailer is any indication, this one isn’t arriving quietly.

Australian tour

Australian fans won’t have to wait long to see the band in person either, with Ice Nine Kills returning later this year alongside Electric Callboy for a massive arena run across the country, including an additional Brisbane show after the first date sold out.
