Chiodos Return With First New Music In Over A Decade, Release ‘TAPDAT’

After more than a decade without new music, Chiodos are officially back.

Influential post-hardcore outfit Chiodos have launched a new era by signing with SharpTone Records and releasing TAPDAT, the band’s first original single in over 10 years. Accompanied by a cinematic new music video, the track marks the beginning of what frontman Craig Owens describes as the next evolution of Chiodos rather than simply a reunion.

Produced by Keith Sorrells (Demi Lovato, Jutes, Kami Kehoe), TAPDAT wastes little time reminding fans why Chiodos became one of the defining names of 2000s post-hardcore.

“There is still so much work to be done to build out the world of Chiodos. TAPDAT is the first step in that direction,” Owens said.

A return to their ethos

“Its return to our ethos is what drew me back to creating with this band, and you can feel it throughout every minute of the song. The release follows a remarkable resurgence for the band over the past two years. In 2024, Chiodos reunited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark debut album, All’s Well That Ends Well, embarking on a sold-out North American tour while appearing at major festivals including Warped Tour, Louder Than Life and When We Were Young.

Their comeback continued to gather momentum in 2025 when fan favourite Baby, You Wouldn’t Last a Minute on the Creek earned Gold certification from the RIAA, highlighting the band’s enduring influence across multiple generations of heavy music fans.

Now, with a new label home and fresh material finally arriving, Chiodos appear to be looking firmly ahead rather than revisiting the past.

The band will continue celebrating the launch of this new chapter with a North American headline tour alongside Second Harbour, Sace6 and 156/Silence, giving fans their first chance to hear TAPDAT live while hinting that even more new music may be on the horizon.
