After a seven year break, Silvertomb are officially back.
New York doom metal outfit Silvertomb, featuring former Type O Negative and Danzig members Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly, have announced their long awaited second studio album, The Interpretation Of Nightmares, arriving on Friday, November 13th via Steamhammer.
Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, “No Way To Live,” giving fans their first taste of new music since 2019’s acclaimed debut, Edge Of Existence.

A difficult return
For frontman Kenny Hickey, the road to the band’s return hasn’t been an easy one.
“Just as things were really beginning to take off for Silvertomb, our hands were suddenly tied for a number of years due to the pandemic and its long-lasting aftermath; on top of that, I had a drinking problem that urgently needed sorting out,” Hickey said, reflecting on the period between 2020 and 2024.
Silvertomb had been building serious momentum following the release of Edge Of Existence, with strong reviews and a planned tour alongside Monster Magnet before the global pandemic brought everything to a halt.
Now, with those setbacks behind them, the band is looking ahead with what they’re describing as a darker, more ambitious record.
Lead single “No Way To Live” offers an energetic contrast to the album’s slower, doom laden moments while still exploring themes of rejection, isolation and emotional pain.
Silvertomb’s current lineup features Hickey on vocals and guitar alongside drummer Johnny Kelly, former Agnostic Front guitarist Joe James, Sheer Terror bassist Hank Hell and guitarist/keyboardist Aaron Joos.
