BREACH Sign To Greyscale Records And Unleash Debut Single ‘PARASITE’

Share

Toronto metalcore outfit BREACH have officially joined the Greyscale Records roster, marking the occasion with their debut single ‘PARASITE’.

Featuring members of Comeback Kid and Misery Signals, BREACH arrives with a sound that sits somewhere between hardcore, industrial metal and metalcore, while drawing from a suitably chaotic mix of influences including Deftones, Crosses, Whitechapel, The Chariot and Justice For The Damned.

‘PARASITE’ is a particularly nasty introduction, the track focuses on a toxic person who repeatedly forces their way back into someone’s life, exploiting vulnerability through manipulation, deception and emotional abuse.

Rather than simply attacking its subject, the song explores the damage left behind when someone builds themselves up by tearing everyone around them down. It’s an appropriately bleak premise for a band whose music is described as tense, crushing, eerie and unsettling.

The release also establishes BREACH’s new relationship with Greyscale Records, a connection that grew from existing friendships between the band and artists already signed to the label.

“With a roster full of heavy artists that we all love and respect, and a glowing recommendation from people we trust, it felt like exactly the relationship we wanted with a label,” the band explain.

BREACH began taking shape in late 2024 when drummer Terrance Pettitt and guitarist Cole Hardy reunited with the intention of making the kind of heavy music that had inspired them to pick up instruments in the first place.

After more than a decade working alongside bassist Kyle Marchant across various projects, the trio began developing material, with Marchant officially joining last year, he has also taken on production duties for the band’s forthcoming self-titled debut EP.

Vocalist Luke Snider joined towards the end of last year, helping establish the band’s initial six songs. The lineup was completed when Comeback Kid guitarist Stuart Ross heard the project while on tour and subsequently joined the band.

Now based in Toronto, BREACH are preparing to make their first major statement with ‘PARASITE’.

The single is out now via Greyscale Records, with the band’s self-titled debut EP still to come.
