Violent Soho To Play Hometown Show In Mansfield Next Week

Violent Soho have surprised fans with the announcement of a last-minute show in their hometown of Mansfield, in the outer suburbs of Brisbane, set to take place next week. The ARIA-winning and recently-reunited rock band will play their first show in four years on Thursday, September 3rd at the Mansfield Tavern – which they have lovingly rebranded as the “Mansfield Rock Arena” in celebration of the show.

“Before our official headline tour kicks off, we’re playing a small rock show at the local for our Brisbane faithful,” the band wrote in a statement shared to their mailing list. “We’ll be dusting off the cobwebs and doing our best to remember how the songs go.” Melbourne band Divers, who were signed to Domestic La La (the independent label run by Soho’s James Tidswell), will open.

There is a catch: If you want to attend the band’s intimate warm-up gig, you’ll have to buy tickets in person. The band have revealed that only two Brisbane-based outlets will be selling physical tickets to the show: Sonic Sherpa in Stones Corner, and Rockaway Records in Carindale. Tickets will be available from both outlets at 8am this Saturday (August 29th).

Tickets for the show will cost $59.90, and a limit of four tickets per customer will be in place. No online or digital tickets will be made available for the show, and the original physical ticket must be presented in order to gain entry on the night.

The Mansfield show comes a week before the band are slated to kick off a run of sold-out east coast shows, which will see them return to the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane – the scene of their farewell show back in September 2022. They will also play two shows apiece at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and Melbourne’s Forum. Beddy Rays will serve as main support for all the shows, while the opening slot will alternate between Adelaide duo Teenage Joans and Sydney’s Secret World.

Violent Soho originally announced their return back in April, sharing the tour dates with a succinct statement: “Some dudes play golf, we play in a band.” Speculation had already ramped up some months beforehand, when Tidswell and frontman Luke Boerdam joined blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus on-stage at the Sydney Opera House in February. After performing ‘Dammit’ together acoustically, Hoppus told the audience that Violent Soho would be getting back together.

Since the announcement, the band have also announced appearances on the line-up for Rolling Sets in late 2026 and at Castaway festival from November 2026 to March 2027. The full itinerary for Violent Soho’s live return can be found below.
