The Strokes are heading back to Australia in February 2027, locking in four headline shows behind their latest album, Reality Awaits.
The run starts at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 13 February before moving to Melbourne for back-to-back nights at Rod Laver Arena on 16 and 17 February. The band will then close the Australian leg outdoors at Sydney’s Centennial Park on 20 February.
That Sydney show also launches the inaugural Sydney Summertime concert series, with Beck, Courtney Barnett and Promiseland joining the bill. Barnett and Promiseland will also support The Strokes in Brisbane and Melbourne.
The tour lands after a year in which The Strokes have looked determined to make their festival appearances count for more than a nostalgia lap. During their Coachella Weekend 2 set in April, the band closed with ‘Oblivius’ while a large-screen montage criticised US foreign intervention, referenced alleged CIA involvement in regime change and ended with imagery connected to Gaza and Iran.
It was one of the band’s most direct public statements of 2026, delivered on one of the biggest festival stages in the world. Five months later, Australia is now getting the next chapter of the Reality Awaits era.
The album arrived in June as The Strokes’ first full-length since 2020’s The New Abnormal. Recorded in Costa Rica with Rick Rubin and completed across several locations, it includes ‘Going Shopping’ and ‘Falling Out of Love’ and has underpinned a year of major festival appearances including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Summer Sonic.
The Strokes last played Australia in 2025 as a Harvest Rock headliner, following their sold-out Australian headline run in 2022. This time, the scale is bigger in Sydney and the new record is firmly at the centre of the set-up.
