Foo Fighters have added an unusually small Melbourne show to their 2026 Australian run, taking over the 1,250-capacity Crown LIVE on Monday, 16 November
The venue launch is the corporate part of the announcement. The scale is the interesting part. Two nights earlier, Foo Fighters will be at Marvel Stadium. On Monday they will move into a room of 1,250 people for a one-off show Crown is calling ‘Loud & Up Close’.
Crown LIVE itself is the redeveloped former Palms at Crown, not a new standalone music venue. The theatre is reopening in November after a rebuild, with Crown positioning it for concerts, residencies, theatre and comedy.
For Foo Fighters fans, though, the equation is simpler. This is a band that spends most of its time in stadiums and at the top of festival bills, squeezed into a room where even the back row is going to feel relatively close.
Tickets reflect the scarcity. Bronze seated tickets are $199, Silver is $299, while Gold seating and general admission standing are both $499. Crown also lists a $10.25 processing fee per transaction. The show is 18+.
There is no normal public onsale. Fans need to register through Crown by 11:59pm AEDT on Monday, 12 October. Ticketmaster’s request process runs from 9am Thursday, 15 October until 11:59pm Friday, 16 October. Successful and unsuccessful applicants are due to be notified on Wednesday, 21 October, and each verified registrant can request a maximum of two tickets.
The intimate date sits inside Foo Fighters’ Take Cover Australian tour, which BLUNT covered when the stadium run was announced in February. The tour begins in Brisbane on 5 November before moving through Townsville, Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne. After the Crown LIVE show, the band heads to Adelaide on 17 November, then returns to Australia and New Zealand in early 2027.
The contrast is hard to miss. Melbourne gets the full stadium production on Saturday night, then a deliberately compressed version of the same band on Monday. That is what gives this announcement some weight beyond the venue launch itself.
Crown will understandably make plenty of the fact Foo Fighters are opening its revamped room. Whether Crown LIVE becomes important to Melbourne’s live music ecosystem will be decided by the bookings that follow, not one launch night. For now, the thing worth paying attention to is simpler: Foo Fighters are playing Melbourne to 1,250 people, two days after playing a stadium.
Registrations are open now via Crown LIVE.
