Jimmy Barnes will lead the 2027 Red Hot Summer Tour through eight outdoor dates between January and March.
Jon Stevens will bring his Noiseworks & INXS Collection, with Birds of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe, Baby Animals, Chocolate Starfish and Sarah McLeod completing a bill built almost entirely from Australian rock radio’s permanent residents. McLeod will perform as a duo with drummer Mick Skelton.
The route begins at Mannum Golf Club in South Australia on 9 January, then moves through Warrnambool, Lake Macquarie, Southport, Port Macquarie, the Yarra Valley and Launceston before closing at Gateway Lakes in Wodonga on 6 March. Mannum will run under the Sounds By The River banner.
The line-up is familiar by design. Red Hot Summer has spent years turning regional parks, wineries and racecourses into temporary homes for acts that can fill a set without asking an audience to study first. Barnes at the top gives it the obvious centre of gravity, while Stevens’ Noiseworks and INXS material makes the middle of the bill considerably louder than the word “nostalgia” usually suggests. It also explains why the bill reads less like a genre exercise than a map of several Australian rock generations. Baby Animals and Chocolate Starfish bring the hard-edged pub and arena language around Barnes and Stevens; Eskimo Joe and Birds of Tokyo carry the alternative-rock shift that followed; McLeod connects both eras without turning the afternoon into a museum piece. In regional settings, that breadth matters. The day has to work for families, lifers and casual listeners arriving with different memories of the same radio dial.
