The Sydney metalcore outfit have released new single ‘Serum’ as they prepare to tour North America with Northlane.

Sydney progressive metalcore outfit Reliqa have announced their second album, High Risk Thoughts, alongside the release of its opening track, ‘Serum’, as the band prepares for its first North American tour.

Arriving on 12 February 2027 through Nuclear Blast, the ten-track album follows their 2024 debut, Secrets Of The Future, and marks another significant step for the Australian quartet.

In an announcement published by Nuclear Blast, Reliqa described ‘Serum’ as a bridge between their previous material and the direction they’re taking on the new record.

The band cited Danish progressive metal outfit VOLA as a major influence on the track’s sound, particularly its darker, mechanical elements.

They also revealed that ‘Serum’ is the only track from the forthcoming album they’ve been consistently performing live, with the audience response helping build their confidence in the new material.

An official music video for ‘Serum’ accompanies the announcement.

High Risk Thoughts follows a period of growing momentum for Reliqa, who have spent the past two years establishing themselves beyond Australia’s progressive metalcore circuit.

According to Nuclear Blast, Secrets Of The Future has accumulated more than four million streams, while the band have toured nationally alongside Northlane and Periphery and appeared at festivals including Good Things.

Their next major milestone will take them overseas.

Reliqa will embark on their first North American tour in February and March 2027, supporting fellow Australians Northlane across 25 dates in the United States and Canada.

The run begins at Sacramento’s Ace of Spades on 12 February, the same day High Risk Thoughts arrives, before travelling through cities including Los Angeles-area Anaheim, New York, Toronto, Chicago and Vancouver.

It concludes at Portland’s Roseland Theater on 18 March.

The tour represents a considerable step forward for Reliqa, placing them in front of North American audiences just as they introduce their second full-length record.

While Nuclear Blast has confirmed the album and overseas touring plans, no accompanying Australian headline dates were announced in the label’s statement.

High Risk Thoughts is available to pre-order, while ‘Serum’ is available to stream now.
