Angine De Poitrine Announce First Australian Headline Shows

Share

The Canadian microtonal duo will play Melbourne and Sydney alongside their previously announced Golden Plains and WOMADelaide appearances.

Angine de Poitrine have announced their first Australian headline shows, adding Melbourne and Sydney dates to a 2027 visit that already includes Golden Plains and WOMADelaide.

The duo will play Forum Melbourne on March 4 and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on March 9. Their festival appearances fall between those concerts, with Golden Plains on March 6 and WOMADelaide on March 7.

The masks and polka dots might get you to click. Keeping track of what the pair are doing is another matter.

Khn de Poitrine handles microtonal guitar and looping while Klek de Poitrine plays drums, building intricate rhythmic patterns with just two people.

Their much-shared KEXP session provides a useful starting point. Recorded at Trans Musicales in Rennes, France, in December 2025 and released in February, the performance includes ‘Fabienk’, ‘Mata Zyklek’ and ‘Sarniezz’.

The duo also picked up two major honours at home in September, winning both the 2026 Polaris Album Prize for Vol. II and the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize for ‘Fabienk’. The Polaris prizes assess artistic merit rather than sales or genre.

The Australian headline dates offer a full set to get your bearings, lose them again and watch the process up close.

According to MG Live’s announcement, presales for both headline dates begin on October 27 at 10am local time. General tickets go on sale on October 30 at 10am local time.
