New Ozzy Osbourne Documentary Reveals His “Devastating Setbacks” in Health Battles

A new documentary, Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, is set to give fans a raw look at the struggles the metal icon has faced over the past six years.

The documentary will go beyond the Prince of Darkness’ public persona. Instead it will focus on the fallout from his 2019 accident. This was the year that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and forced to cancel a farewell tour due to pneumonia. The documentary is set to capture the brutal reality of his health struggles, including multiple spinal surgeries, and the toll they’ve taken on his life and career.

Speaking on the past few years, Osbourne didn’t sugarcoat it: “The last six years have been full of some of the worst times I’ve been through. There’s been times when I thought my number was up. But making music and making two albums saved me. I’d have gone nuts without music.”

Sharon Osbourne echoed that sentiment, calling the film an “honest account” of what Ozzy has endured. “It shows how hard things have been for him and the courage he has shown while dealing with a number of serious health issues, including Parkinson’s,” she said. “We hope that story will inspire people that are facing similar issues to Ozzy.”

Filming began in 2022, capturing Osbourne in the studio recording Patient Number 9, his 13th solo album. Cameras are ostensibly still rolling for the project too. They will follow Osbourne as he prepares for Black Sabbath’s final show set for Birmingham’s Villa Park in 2025. The gig will mark his first live performance in seven years and the first time since 2005 that all four original members share a stage. While Osbourne won’t be doing a full set, he’s confirmed to be involved in “little bits and pieces”.

Between his health battles and his last-ever live performance, No Escape From Now is set to be the most intimate look at Osbourne’s life yet.
