Wondering what the Stranger Things season 5 release time is in your neck of the woods? We’ve got you covered.
It’s been over three years since Stranger Things last graced our Netflix screens with season 4, and now we’re once again returning to Hawkins for the final season of the iconic show.
The final season of Stranger Things is set to drop in three parts to really ratchet up the anticipation (and pain of waiting even longer) – and the final showdown with Vecna is almost upon us as Volume 1 drops later this week.
Here’s exactly when Volume 1 of Stranger Things season 5 will be available to watch on Netflix in your neck of the woods, so you can plan your binge-watching session as soon as it drops – and avoid any potential spoilers from those on the internet who can’t keep things to themselves for more than five minutes.
When does Stranger Things season 5 release in Australia?

Volume 1 will release in Australia on November 27 at midday (12pm) AEDT and will come with four episodes. Volume 2 of Stranger Things season 5 drops on December 26 at 12pm AEDT (perfect if you’ve got the public holiday off), and the third and final volume will be available on January 1 at 12pm AEDT. If you’re used to binge-watching shows all in one hit, it’ll be a bit of a painful wait to find out the final fate of Hawkins and the Party with the episodes dropping over the space of a month (and a bit).
Here’s what those release times shake out to around the country for Volume 1 of Stranger Things season 5:
- 12:00pm AEDT Thursday, November 27th (Melbourne / Sydney / Canberra / Hobart)
- 11:00am AEST Thursday, November 27th (Brisbane)
- 11:30am ACDT Thursday, November 27th (Adelaide)
- 10:30am ACST Thursday, November 27th (Darwin)
- 9:00am AWST Thursday, November 27th (Perth)
Each following volume will drop at the corresponding times above on their respective release days.
How many episodes does Stranger Things Season 5 have?

Season 5 includes eight episodes total, and we now know the titles of each thanks to Netflix.
- The Crawl
- The Vanishing Of
- The Turnbow Trap
- Sorcerer
- Shock Jock
- Escape From Camazotz
- The Bridge
- The Rightside Up
If you’re interested to dissect exactly what these might mean, go right ahead. You’ve got a day to get deep into analysis in a way I personally haven’t done since Year 12 Literature class. My contribution to the theory train relates to Stranger Things season five, episode six: Escape from Camazotz.
While Camazotz could refer to the bat-like demon creatures that serve the underworld lords in Mayan culture, it’s also the name of a dark planet under the rule of a malevolent entity called the It from Madeleine L’Engle’s science fantasy novel A Wrinkle in Time. While filming season 5, Ross Duffer posted a picture of the novel to Instagram, so it’s a likely shout that there may be a tie-in there. What that means for the content of the episode itself is still anyone’s guess, of course.
