Linkin Park returned to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre last night for the second Australian show of their ‘From Zero’ world tour.
After Tuesday’s emotional first night, the follow up show felt more like the band settling into the rhythm of the tour, the arena was again packed with fans eager to hear a set that spanned multiple eras of the band’s catalogue, blending early 2000s staples with newer material from the band’s current chapter.
The set opened with atmospheric intro pieces before launching straight into ‘Somewhere I Belong’ and ‘Crawling’, two songs that still land with serious weight in a live setting, from there the band pushed through a setlist that jumped between familiar classics and newer tracks like ‘Up From the Bottom’ and ‘The Emptiness Machine’.
Visually, the production remained just as striking on night two, massive LED screens, sharp lighting cues and sweeping visuals transformed the arena into a shifting digital landscape throughout the performance.
Mid set highlights included ‘Burn It Down’, ‘Waiting for the End’, and a run of heavier material including ‘Lies Greed Misery’ and ‘One Step Closer’ that fired up the crowd again.
The later portion of the show leaned into some of the band’s biggest songs. ‘Numb’, ‘In the End’, and ‘Faint’ triggered the kind of arena wide singalongs Linkin Park have been known for since the early 2000s.
The encore closed things out with ‘Papercut’, ‘Heavy Is the Crown’, and a stretched out ‘Bleed It Out’, sending the Brisbane crowd home after another high energy night, with two Brisbane shows now complete, the ‘From Zero’ tour continues across Australia before heading to New Zealand.
