Gallery: Graves – Crowbar Sydney, 8 June 2025

Sydney’s Crowbar got absolutely flattened on Sunday night as metalcore heavyweights Graves rolled through on their Heavy Hitters Tour and made it loud, violent, and unforgettable.

The carnage kicked off early with iocaste throwing the first punches. Their bludgeoning riffs and guttural roars set the tone for the night, shaking the floorboards and waking up every neck in the room.

Body Prison followed and didn’t let up for a second, unloading a full-force sonic assault that had punters slamming into each other from the jump. Cultists closed out the undercard with chaos, their atmosphere dripping with menace before the night’s main demolition crew stepped in.

By the time Graves hit the stage, the intimate crowd was a powder keg. No intro needed – the band launched into a merciless set of low-end punishment and pit-starting brutality. Each track landed like steel-capped boots to the chest, with every breakdown greeted by flailing limbs and floor punches.

There was no filler, no fuss – just a lean, focused barrage from one of the most uncompromising acts in the country. The crowd met them at every turn, bleeding and screaming through every note like it was a badge of honour.

If there was any question about whether Graves still had that edge, this show buried it six feet deep. Their return isn’t just a victory lap, it’s a warning shot.
