The Brisbane Showgrounds transformed into a sanctuary for metalheads as Knotfest thundered into town.

With a lineup boasting heavyweights like Slipknot, A Day to Remember, and BABYMETAL, the festival promised an unforgettable experience—and it delivered in spades.

As the sun blazed over Brisbane, fans poured into the venue, their anticipation palpable. The day kicked off with high-octane performances from emerging acts like Vended and Sunami, setting the tone for the chaos to come. In Hearts Wake took the stage next, their earth-shattering riffs resonating with the crowd, reaffirming Australia’s prowess in the metalcore scene.

The international invasion began with Enter Shikari, whose genre-defying soundscapes and frenetic energy whipped the audience into a frenzy. Within Temptation’s symphonic melodies provided a haunting contrast, with Sharon den Adel’s ethereal vocals captivating all in attendance. Hatebreed’s relentless hardcore anthems incited some of the day’s most intense mosh pits, embodying the festival’s unyielding spirit.

As night fell, the air thickened with anticipation. Slipknot emerged, masked and menacing, launching into a ferocious set that spanned their 25-year career. Classics like “Duality” and “Psychosocial” ignited the crowd, while newer tracks showcased their relentless evolution. The band’s visceral performance was a masterclass in controlled chaos, leaving the audience both exhausted and exhilarated.

Knotfest Brisbane 2025 was a celebration of a community that thrives on intensity and unity. From the blistering performances to the camaraderie among fans, the event encapsulated the essence of metal culture. It also made one thing abundantly clear: metal is not just alive in Brisbane—it’s thriving.
