Beavis and Butt-Head are dropping into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone in a new cursed crossover launching with Season 04 Reloaded.
In what might be the most surreal crossover Call of Duty has rolled out yet, MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head are set to enter the battlefield in Black Ops 6 and Warzone as part of the upcoming Season 04 Reloaded update.
Announced via social media, the arrival of the slacker cartoon duo will kick off with the new season which likely starts on or around June 26. The skins will likely be available through separate Operator Bundles, although pricing has yet to be revealed.
While it hasn’t been confirmed whether other characters from the Beavis and Butt-Head universe will appear, early promotional art includes additional figures drawn in Mike Judge’s signature style, suggesting the Call of Duty chaos might go deeper than just the title characters.
This COD crossover continues Activision’s ongoing shift away from grounded military realism, embracing a style more akin to Fortnite’s anything-goes aesthetic. In recent years, Call of Duty has introduced skins inspired by The Boys, Mobile Suit Gundam, and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A recent skin made entirely of bacon raised similar eyebrows, but nothing seems to have stirred the meme mill quite like this one.
As one Reddit user put it: “Of all the collabs to get military-themed outfits in this game, I definitely did not see Beavis and Butt-Head getting one.” Another chimed in, “Lol these are unironically more MilSim than most skins in the game.”
The skins appear to be dressed in realistic military gear while retaining the pair’s trademark cartoon look. It’s jarring, sure – but hardly shocking at this point in Call of Duty’s evolution.
Critics have pointed out the irony of cartoon characters dropped into gritty, hyper-detailed warzones, but the game’s consistent sales figures for crossover bundles show there’s still a big market for novelty over realism. Meanwhile, players are already cracking jokes about the potential in-game voice lines, with one imagining a classic: “Heh heh heh heh, he said ‘Duty.’”
Call of Duty‘s Season 04 Reloaded is expected to drop around June 26. Whether this bundle carries over to Black Ops 7 remains unclear. For now, players can only speculate – and decide if they’re willing to cough up the cash to bring Beavis and Butt-Head into the fight.
