Share

Sony just held its longest State of Play, revealing a slew of new games on the horizon, including God of War: Sons of Sparta, re-releases of Metal Gear Solid, a John Wick title, and more.

PlayStation just held its longest State of Play this morning, announcing a slew of new games and exciting re-releases fans have been holding out for years.

During the 60-minute showcase, Sony announced that PS5 gamers will finally be able to own Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots outside the PlayStation 3. It was also revealed that Saber Interactive, the team behind the Hitman series and the upcoming James Bond game, 007: First Light, are also making a John Wick game.

Sony would also showcase a variety of updates to already released games, such as Ghost of Yōtei, which is set to receive a free multiplayer mode, and offer extended looks at already announced games to help keep the hype going.

So, with that in mind, let’s dive into everything you missed at the February 2026 PlayStation State of Play.

God of War: Sons of Sparta & God of War Greece Trilogy Remake

Sony announced that developers Santa Monica Studios are remaking the beloved God of War trilogy that helped us break many a controller due to vigorous circle mashing. Details are still light at the moment, however, the trailer did confirm the original voice actor for Kratos will be returning for the trilogy.

To help with the wait, Sony shadow dropped God of War: Sons of Sparta today. This title is a neat little 2D sidescrolling metroidvania set during Kratos’ youth as he trains alongside his brother Deimos.

You can pick this one up today if you’re craving some good ol’ Greek mythology action.

This one comes out in August, where we’ll all get a chance to see Ocelot longingly kiss Snake yet again.

We hope you like Silent Hill, because Konami has more to feed us with.

This new one is shaking the formula up a bit by shifting to a first-person perspective, which may opt for a more intense and intimate horror experience. This one will be coming out later in the year.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora

The sequel to Kena: Bridge of Secrets has finally been announced and is set to release later this year. If you love classic PlayStation action games or just love magical wolves with a deep connection to nature, this one is sure to match your exact special interest.

4:Loop Extended Look

Bad Robot and former developers of the zombie shooter Left 4 Dead have given us a new look at their upcoming game 4:Loop. It’s another four-player tactical shooter, which could either scratch that co-op madness itch Left 4 Dead has left us, or end up another Back 4 Blood. I’m holding out for the former, at least.
