The internet’s got a theory — and this time, it’s about Megan Thee Stallion and Grand Theft Auto 6.
Earlier this week, Megan dropped a behind-the-scenes video from a Vice City-themed shoot: palm trees, neon, a bikini, and a bottle of tequila. The setting looked suspiciously like the pastel-soaked aesthetic Rockstar’s been teasing for the long-awaited GTA return. Fans instantly clocked the Vice City vibes and jumped to the obvious conclusion. That Megan might be in the game.
The timing tracks too. Grand Theft Auto 6 is still slated for release later this year, with the map set to revisit the Miami-inspired chaos of Vice City. Rockstar is staying quiet, but speculation has been running hot since December’s first trailer.
Megan’s connection to Rockstar isn’t pulled out of thin air either. She’s one of only 1,007 accounts the company follows on Instagram. Her track ‘Cash Shit’ also featured in GTA Online.
But here’s where it gets muddy. The same video was later posted on Megan’s grid as an ad for her Chicas Divertidas tequila. That’s made some fans backpedal, thinking it might just be a well-timed marketing stunt, not a GTA teaser.
Still, the signs keep stacking. T-Pain recently said he was asked to step back from GTA Online roleplay after joining the dev team for GTA 6. ScHoolboy Q also confirmed his music will be featured. It continues Rockstar’s trend of roping in major names for the soundtrack and more.
It wouldn’t be the first time GTA blurred the line between game and pop culture either. Dr. Dre premiered new music in GTA Online as part of The Contract. New reports even suggest that GTA 6 could lean even more into the virtual-world-meets-celebrity model. Think Fortnite, but with more felonies.
Rockstar hasn’t said a word. But if Megan’s involved, expect another internet meltdown when the next trailer drops.
