For those that were about to rock in Canada, AC/DC have unfortunately announced that next week’s show at Rogers Stadium in Toronto has been quite literally thunderstruck.
Last week, the city was hit with a severe storm that caused significant damages – including to the 50,000-capacity stadium, with rows of seats literally ripped out and concrete floors upended. Look at the aftermath of the storm via CTV News below:
“We regret to announce that AC/DC’s show scheduled for September 16, 2026 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto has been cancelled due to damage the venue sustained following a severe weather event,” wrote the venue in a press statement.
“The safety of our fans, artists, crew and venue staff remains our highest priority. Every effort was made to find potential solutions for the show to move forward in Toronto, but unfortunately we were unable to find an alternative venue that could accommodate everyone.”
Kevin Mahoney, the venue’s on-site meteorologist, described the weather as “a 100-year storm for Toronto”, attributing it to “a suspected microburst in the area”.
“We continuously monitor the weather at Rogers Stadium to provide decision support around concert safety,” he said. “It’s clear by the extreme intensity of the storm that this was exceptional for the region.”
AC/DC have not publicly commented on the cancellation themselves, instead reposting the venue’s statement. Canadian fans will now only have one chance to see the band on their Power Up world tour, that being this Saturday (September 12th) at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal.
The tour will conclude later this month with two final North American shows: New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on September 25th, and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on September 29th.
Earlier this week, the band performed in St. Louis alongside Foo Fighters, who played their first support slot in over 30 years as part of the show.
