After weeks of speculation and a now-infamous Facebook slip-up, AC/DC have officially announced their 2025 North American stadium tour, marking their first trek across the U.S. since 2016.
And for those worried about another lineup shakeup, breathe easy—Brian Johnson is back as frontman, silencing rumours of Axl Rose’s return.
The Leak That Sparked the Hype
Two weeks ago, eagle-eyed fans caught AC/DC prematurely posting a Facebook event for an April 11 show at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium. The post, swiftly deleted, was immortalised by fan accounts, igniting chatter about a full tour announcement. Adding fuel to the fire, former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach claimed that Axl Rose would front the band for a handful of dates, reigniting memories of the Guns N’ Roses singer stepping in during the Rock or Bust tour.
But as it turns out, Brian Johnson, now 77, will lead the charge, his hearing issues from 2016 seemingly resolved. He joins Angus Young, Stevie Young, Matt Laug, and Chris Chaney for what’s shaping up to be an unforgettable return.
A Tour Built on ‘Power Up’
AC/DC’s latest run supports their 2020 album, Power Up, which saw the band roaring back to critical and commercial acclaim. Tracks like Shot in the Dark and Through the Mists of Time have become modern fan favourites, seamlessly slotting into a live set that’s already stacked with hard rock classics from the Johnson and Bon Scott eras.

The tour kicks off on April 10, 2025, in Minneapolis, and winds through 13 cities before wrapping up in Cleveland on May 28. Tickets go on sale December 6 at 12 PM local time via AC/DC’s official website.
