Ahren Stringer is reportedly in hospital due to an “unexpected” emergency, according to the official Self Checkout social media account.
Ex-Amity Affliction vocalist Ahren Stringer is reportedly in hospital just one day before his new project Self Checkout’s debut single is set to drop. The news comes from the official Self Checkout social media account, which posted that “Stringer had experienced a “serious and unexpected emergency,” with his “health and recovery” the current focus, as opposed to the new music.
The full post on the Self Checkout Instagram reads:
“To Our Self Checkout Family,
We really wanted to actively engage in celebrating the release of “Death Notes” with you all in real time. Unfortunately, we are supporting Ahren [Stringer] in hospital after a serious and unexpected emergency, so our priority has shifted to his health and recovery. We hope you enjoy the big day enough for all of us, your support means the world xxx”
Comments on the post include well wishes from fans and a whole lot of love (as well as concern).
This news comes just one day before Self Checkout’s debut single ‘Death Notes’ is set to drop. It’s the first music from the project – which includes Ahren Stringer and ex-Volumes member Yung Yogi (AKA Gus Farias). Speaking to Blunt earlier this year, Stringer said the project is a mix of genres and sounds. “It’s gonna be an eclectic mix…some would say a cosmic gumbo.”
Himself and Yung Yogi also noted that Self Checkout was focused on prioritising the mental health of the duo – with the project itself a sort of healing process for them both.
It’s not clear what the emergency mentioned in the post is, but we’re wishing Ahren Stringer a speedy recovery.
