Ahren Stringer Teases New Song ‘About Joel’ Following Amity Affliction Exit

Share

Ahren Stringer has dropped a cryptic hint about his next move after parting ways with The Amity Affliction—and it’s already got fans talking.

Responding to a question on Instagram about what he’s working on post-Amity, Stringer kept it brief but loaded: “You’ll love the song about Joel.” No context. No follow-up. Just that.

Considering the sudden nature of his exit from the band, it didn’t take long for speculation to spiral. Is it a diss track? A reflection? A farewell wrapped in melody? Fans are dissecting every word, trying to figure out what’s coming. One things for sure though, the ‘Joel’ is clearly Joel Birch.

Stringer’s recent departure marked the end of an era for The Amity Affliction. He was there from the start, shaping the band’s sound with his signature bass work and vocals. His recent comments came after Stringer left the band due to feeling ‘alienated’. Stringer also made the recent announcement that he would be making his ‘final’ Amity Affliction tattoos for fans. This, coupled with Stringer’s recent comments all but confirms he has left the band. Despite this, no official comment has yet been made by Amity Affliction or their team.

Now, with this single comment, he’s made it clear he’s not done making noise—just shifting gears.

While details about the track are non-existent for now, the message feels personal. Whether it’s a heartfelt tribute, a raw airing of grievances, or something in between, one thing’s certain: people will be listening closely.

This isn’t the first time Stringer’s hinted at solo material. When he announced his Amity exit, he mentioned new music was on the way. But this? This feels specific. Targeted, even.

No release date. No teaser clips. Just a single sentence that’s doing exactly what it was meant to—keeping everyone guessing.
