Arch Enemy have confirmed a major shake up in their lineup, announcing that vocalist Alissa White-Gluz has officially left the band after twelve years.
The news broke via social media early Sunday, ending an era that reshaped the melodic death metal giants and pushed them into some of their biggest touring years.
The band’s statement was brief but direct, posted over their logo:
‘Arch Enemy have parted ways with singer Alissa White-Gluz. We’re thankful for the time and music we’ve shared and wish her all the best. Wherever there is an ending, there is also a beginning. See you in 2026.’
White-Gluz followed with her own message soon after:
‘After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways… I can’t wait to share what I have been working on with you all (some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026 and see you very soon.’
The timing has caught fans off guard, Arch Enemy wrapped their Blood Dynasty tour barely a week ago, with no public hints of friction or transition. The band have also limited replies on their posts across Instagram, Facebook and X, a move that has only added to the speculation.
Fans React to the Split
Reactions online swung between sadness, praise and curiosity about what comes next, some fans thanked White-Gluz for the four albums she delivered with the band, while others instantly began wondering who might take on the role next. With long standing debates about Angela Gossow’s influence resurfacing,
one commenter wrote simply: “That’s the end of Arch Enemy,” capturing the mood of those who believed her voice had become inseparable from the band’s modern identity.
